Speaker Boehner: Thanksgiving Day an Opportunity to Reflect on America’s Greatness & Our Dedicated Troops

House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) today issued the following Thanksgiving Day tribute:
“America’s greatness is based on the hard-earned liberties secured by our Founding Fathers and enshrined in a written Constitution. Succeeding generations have defended our freedom and have worked to build a nation unlike any other. We are the beneficiaries of their sacrifice and commitment.
“As we observe Thanksgiving Day 2012 let us remember the men and women serving in our Armed Forces, especially those overseas facing the constant danger of combat. We remain thankful for their dedication to duty.
“The promise that is America is as alive today as it ever has been. But we should be ever mindful and thankful for the generosity of a gracious God. Because of His blessing we are free to prosper as well as show charity for those in need. Many great challenges are ahead, yet there is great hope because of God’s faithfulness. To my fellow citizens, I say Happy Thanksgiving and best wishes this holiday season.”
