Pictures from This Week: Working Hard for the Eighth District
Posted by Press Office on March 08, 2013

In the past week Speaker Boehner has participated in meetings with people from across the country, hosted press conferences, sat down for extensive interviews about government spending and our nation’s debt, and led a vote to pass a continuing resolution to keep the government open through the end of the fiscal year.

But on a day-by-day basis, the Speaker has to balance his role as the leader of the House of Representatives, with his role as the representative for the constituents of the Eighth District.  So today, we want to give you a small peak at just a few of the things he did this week that were focused on Ohio and you at home:

Last weekend, Congressman Boehner hosted the 22nd Annual Eighth District Farm Forum in Piqua.  With more than 200 people in attendance, the Congressman covered issues ranging from the sequester to energy and gas prices.

Congressman Boehner, along with Congressman Bob Gibbs (OH-07), met and took questions from Ohio Farm Bureau county presidents in the House Agriculture Committee Room.

Back in his office in the U.S. Capitol, Congressman Boehner discussed higher education and job retraining with representatives from the Springfield-Clark Career Technology Center.

And he recorded a brief message to high school students encouraging them to participate in this year’s Congressional Art Competition.  Take a minute to watch it here:
