VIDEO: Boehner Kicks-Off Annual Congressional Art Competition

Congressman Boehner posted the following message to Eighth District constituents today, encouraging the participation of high school students in this year's Congressional art competition.

"Artistic Discovery" - a yearly competition for 9th - 12th graders nationwide - provides an opportunity for young Americans to share their artwork.  The grand prize-winning piece of art from each Congressional District is hung in the halls of Congress for the thousands of daily visitors to the Capitol to view.  Learn more about the rules, important dates, and view past winners by clicking here.

Please take a minute to watch Congressman Boehner discuss the competition and note the final day to submit artwork is Wednesday, April 17th.

    Thank you for standing for me and the nation on the sequester fight. I am ashamed to have a president who constantly lies. The media seem to be afraid to call it what it is. My parents would call it a lie, the courts call a lie a lie. As a nation, we deserve answers on the sequester, Benghazi, his lies during the debates with Romney and Fast and Furious. I emailed him Friday asking for the truth. Maybe if other Americans call him on his lies, he might respond truthfully. But I am not holding my breath. Thank you again for your service.

    Pres. Obama is doing the best he can in a world filled with constant threats and difficulties. He's trying to get us out of a war that we have no business in. The longest war in American History. He killed Bin Laden! Unemployment is dropping. The economy is recovering. I think that any party that would deliberately try to harm the reputation of the President or slow the progress of the country for their own egos is the most Un American thing and biggest cause of Treason I can think of! The entire Congress should be working together to make the strongest America ever. Our bridges are broken, our kids cant do math, the FDA doesn't care what goes into our food thus our country is OBESE! Congress should be working on this and putting the crooks who took down Wall Street behind bars!!

    Please don't let this fiscal cliff talks allow President Obama to get his way and increase taxes. I believe that you are an honorable man, along with many of the Republicans in the Senate and House. This is a horrible situation our Country if facing with Obama and the Left trying to destroy what our Country with their changes to Immigration, the Balanced Budget, Marriage between a man and woman, his authority to pass laws and bypass Congress. I am praying along with many other Christians that God will grant you, and your fellow leaders to bring this to a halt and restore our Country. Please go on Fox news, Wall Street journal, and other news venues to discuss your great plans and how we need to bring a balanced budget back. Every time I see you on TV I know that you are the right person to lead us. Thank you again
