On Defense: POTUS Schedules Energy Tour to Explain Why Gas Prices Have Doubled on His Watch

The average American family uses 1,100 gallons of gasoline each year. President Obama will use “roughly 25,000 gallons of jet fuel” this week alone on a “5,000-mile trip” as he desperately explains why his anti-energy policies are somehow not to blame for gas prices doubling on his watch.
The taxpayer-funded expedition will take President Obama to Cushing, OK – a key point along the popular Keystone XL pipeline, which he rejected and personally lobbied against – where he will make a show of his support for … the part of the pipeline that didn’t need his approval and is moving forward with it. But this week’s costly dog-and-pony show isn’t likely to fool anyone. The president wants the American people to think his policies have nothing to do with rising gas prices, but the facts tell a different story:
No wonder a new survey from The Hill found 68 percent of Americans believe “Obama’s policies will result in gasoline prices increasing,” and a plurality believe “they will cause the United States to become even more dependent on foreign oil.” Similar surveys by ABC News/ Washington Post and CBS News/New York Times show overwhelmingly disapproval for the way the president is handling gas prices. While the president and Democrats are scrambling and playing defense, Republicans are working to remove barriers to American energy production and stop policies that drive up gas prices.
